Tinsa Foundation

Established in 2021, Tinsa is a registered non-governmental organization that aims to contribute to the conservation of biodiversity, ecosystems, and landscapes by fostering community participation. Tinsa’s core team is made up of early-career researchers and conservationists who are driven by scientific temperament and believe that evidence-based interventions can pave the way for sustainable development. Tinsa is proud to harbor expertise in biodiversity assessments as well as in community outreach. Within a short time since its establishment, Tinsa has been able to garner appreciation and respect from the conservation fraternity for its efforts. In September this year, in collaboration with the Madhya Pradesh Forest Department, Tinsa organized a two-day butterfly survey in Ratapani Wildlife Sanctuary which was attended by more than 90 volunteers who came from different parts of the country. This citizen-science effort was a huge success as the survey yielded the identification of 103 butterfly species that brought much-deserved attention to the Sanctuary. At present, Tinsa is in the process of forging partnerships with other National parks, Wildlife Sanctuaries, Tiger Reserves, and educational institutions to design and implement research studies and community outreach programs. Going forward, Tinsa aims at creating long-lasting and outcome-oriented partnerships with stakeholders at every level of the conservation ecosystem in the country so that together we can achieve the objective of a better tomorrow.
