We are a not-for-profit organisation to help provide screening and training for schools, sports clubs and institutions and in turn help save lives. Every week in the UK, around 12 young people (under the age of 35) die suddenly from a previously undiagnosed heart condition. 80% of these deaths will occur with no prior symptoms. Although it won’t identify all young people at risk, in Italy, where screening is mandatory for all young people engaged in organised sport, they have good evidence of significantly reducing the incidence of young sudden cardiac death. For every minute someone is in cardiac arrest without CPR and access to a defibrillator, their chances of survival drops by up to 10%.
