Grounded on the notion of how technology has become an experimental philosophy, ToftH’s mission is to introduce a new practice designed to leverage the creative and philosophical powers of technology. It’s a platform for building technology, by Doing Philosophy. We discover the newness afforded by technology. We invent language to articulate it. We build products and prototypes that make this newness experiential. The platform consists of two main branches: ToftH School is a California non-profit educational organization (501c3) designed to bring into existence the practice, which is located at the intersection of philosophical (conceptual) research, art practice, and technology R&D. ToftH Research Corporation (TRC) is an AI research and product insight company. It combines ToftH’s unique method of Doing Philosophy – for identifying the unique newness afforded by AI – with a novel approach to UXR/UI and a new benchmarking metric to help clients successfully build AI products. Founded in 2021 by Tobias Rees and Kim Newman, ToftH is located in Berkeley, California. Closed in 2023, thank you for all the support!
