Toronto Singing-Strings

Toronto Singing Strings invites young learners to experience an innovative approach to learning music. We are a music academy that uses modern musical styles such as hip hop, jazz, and electronica as a medium to master the necessary components of music training. This method works especially well with young students, as it provides an exciting, vibrant and dynamic teaching environment. The training at Toronto Singing Strings ensures that each and every student acquires substantial knowledge in the field of playing, reading and improvising music necessary to succeed in strings. We strive to creates a highly engaging learning environment that encourages creativity and momentous initiative through improvisation and freestyle playing. Besides learning perfect posture, proper technique, and performance etiquette, students develop high level discipline and leadership qualities expected of a superior strings student. Our program offers weekly group violin lessons for up to 10 students during lunch, recess, and after school. Violins are outfitted with a case, bow, shoulder rest and rosin. Toronto Singing Strings also provides theory and music repertoire books. The program is offered in two levels – 1. Entry and 2. Advanced. Lastly, our advanced mentorship program Elite Strings offers a variety of performance experiences and additional leadership development for students. Our charitable organization, The Power of Strings Foundation, sponsors students of low income families by covering the cost of a violin and the lessons provided by Toronto Singing Strings.
