Touken Sushi

The ship Kasato-Maru took the first 781 Japanese emigrants to Brazil. 50 days on board and having traveled almost 12 thousand nautical miles, Heichiro Tanaka and Kazue Tanaka arrived in Brazil with the objective of building a new life and a large family. From 1990 to Satie, Heichiro and Kazue Tanaka's granddaughter took the opposite path. She moved to Osaka (Japan) to learn more about Japanese culture, customs and cuisine. Back in Brazil, she was hired to work at JAL (Japan's largest airline company), making her frequent visits to Japan. In 2014, when she moved to Orlando with her family, she understood the city's need for modern and creative Japanese cuisine. Together with her husband, she founded Toüken Sushi.
