Trade for the Future is an agro-business with a sizable charitable component operating in East Africa. The organization is dedicated to ending child hunger and bringing communities out of poverty without relying on continuous donations from the West. The business engages in agricultural activities which create jobs and increase the food supply. Profits are invested into charitable activities such as providing communities with free, potable water and funding high-quality public schools. “We believe that soliciting donations from distant countries, while a good place to start, is not a long-term solution for eradicating poverty. Currently, the charity system in Africa saves hungry children so that they grow into hungry adults.
