Transit-Lingua

TRANSIT-Lingua endeavours to make all those involved in public life aware of the role that all languages, without any exception, are playing in the construction of a world which is getting more and more internationalized. Initiated by a group of researchers who organized themselves as a collaborative network, TRANSIT-Lingua is an association which connects the public sector, firms and the world of academic research in order to encourage their mutual fertilisation. Its main field is intercultural situations, especially situations which involve international mobility and the construction of social representations. TRANSIT-Lingua seeks to value linguistic and cultural diversity, to build up social cohesion and to fight against all the linguistic basis of xenophobia and social discrimination. TRANSIT-Lingua brings its skills and ethical approach to current societal debates, as defined by social sciences and the scientific community. In multilingual and multicultural domains, TRANSIT-Lingua’s activities focus on the functions of languages in globalized societies, the construction of citizenship among audiences at school or out of school and the promotion of linguistic and cultural heritage in connection with transnational mobility.
