Transplant Technicians
Transplant Technicians (TT’s) zijn in heel Nederland aanwezig bij nierdonaties en -transplantaties. Alle nieren in Nederland worden van donor naar ontvanger vervoerd aan een perfusiemachine (i.p.v. op ijs). De Transplant Technician is de expert op het gebied van deze machinepreservatie van de nieren. De Transplant Technicians rijden met een dienstauto naar de post mortale donaties en zijn aanwezig bij de niertransplantaties in het UMCG. Ze zijn aanwezig gedurende de hele operatie. Hierbij zijn ze verantwoordelijk voor het opbouwen van de perfusiemachines, het verzamelen van monsters en patiëntgegevens.
