Our story is one that is informal, engaging and has been trusted since our first store in Pietermaritzburg in 1977. We are inspired by Africa, its outdoor pioneers, braai fanatics, bushveld explorers, off road adventurers, memory makers and all those who embrace its diversity – especially the outdoors. We at Trappers value experiences. We loathe fashion, fads & the next best thing. We are motivated by people, travel and time spent together in far away places or just around the fire at home. A devotion to simplicity and a human spirit that is steadfast in all we do. We strive to make beautifully considered, timeless, locally manufactured outdoor goods that are classic, authentic and readily available in all our stores. Goods that do not fail. Collaborating with leading equipment brands to grow their brand along with ours ensures a wide range of products and emboldens our objective of achieving the highest level of customer service in our stores. We believe that it’s often the small things that count and sometimes all it takes is a friendly greeting when you walk into one of our stores.
