Lovely, homely pub based in Sutton in Ashfield, Nottinghamshire, with a great atmosphere. Good selection of drinks both alcohol filled and alcohol free and a great selection of delicious food, from classics such as steak & ale pie, braising steak & beer battered fish, to our tremendous artisan Pizzas. We have two quizzes per week (Thursday & Sunday night), live music on every weekend (mostly Fridays but the odd Saturday instead) and live sport on multiple screens every day, courtesy of TNT Sports and Sky Sports (and of course, the free to air stuff like cup games on ITV & BBC and even Wrexham games on Welsh BBC that nobody here seems to give a damn about). We have a league standard pool table & a (relatively battered old) dart board. We also have a huge car park, capable of holding a coach or two and plenty of space for overnight campers. You'll mostly be met with a smile (depending on how busy/stressed we are) and given the warmest of welcomes (probably) and even if you're not. well, the beer is decent. and the warm pork crackling is ace and you can guarantee there will be someone for you to talk to. Landlord and landlady are both Notts County fans, so plenty of scope for giving them some banter (which they can mostly take without being all pissy).
