Travelling Gallery is a contemporary art gallery in a bus, it is a national service with the exceptional ability to reach communities and people across Scotland. Founded in 1978, our function and core mission is to take our exciting and experimental programme to every part of Scotland, allowing access and learning for all. Travelling Gallery continues its quest to give schools and communities the opportunity to engage, participate and experience contemporary art on their own doorstep. We recognise that art can change lives and create fair conditions to allow audiences to engage in our exhibitions; the gallery space offers an open and welcoming environment for everyone to discover and enjoy contemporary art, often for the very first time, in a safe and familiar space. “If art is for everyone then surely Travelling Gallery is the best example of that.” Andrew Menzies, driver/guide
