Originally established as a joint venture between Smith Bell & Company and the Thomas Cook Group of the UK, TravelServices, Inc. operated in the Philippines under the name Thomas Cook Travel. In 1986, control of the company was acquired by the Metrobank Group, a well-known local bank in the Philippines, leading to its subsequent renaming as Travelex. Over time, Travelex's ownership transitioned to Asia Pacific Top Management International Resources Corporation, a prominent management company known for operating the Marco Polo Plaza Cebu hotel. The company was then rebranded as First Metro Travel, Inc. In 2009, TravelPeople Ltd. Inc, specializing in marine travel, collaborated with First Metro Investment Corporation, the investment arm of the Metrobank Group, through a Share Purchase Agreement. This collaboration led to the acquisition of majority shares in First Metro Travel Inc, resulting in the establishment of a new entity named TravelServices, Inc. Presently, TravelServices, Inc. stands as one of the top performers in the Philippine travel industry, excelling in both business volume and service integrity. The International Air Transport Association (IATA), Philippine IATA Agents Travel Association (PIATA), Coalition of Travel Operators and Travel Agents Inc.(CTTA), Coalition of Tour Operations Specialists (CATOS), Department of Tourism (DOT) duly accredit the company. Since July 2009, TravelServices, Inc. has been in collaboration with and represents FCM Travel Solutions in the Philippines. FCM Travel Solutions, founded by Flight Centre Limited in 2004, stands as the world's foremost global Travel Management Company, operating in over 95 countries globally. Through this partnership, TravelServices, Inc. and FCM Travel Solutions jointly offer companies strategic insights and a comprehensive approach to address their corporate travel requirements, emphasizing cost reduction.
