Treading Light Photography

I do things, lots of things. I climb mountains and sleep in alpine environments to complete multi-day traverses; drive to Canada to climb perfect ice; ride a bicycle for days and many miles, sometimes completely off-road; rappel down waterfalls, then climb back up; build snow caves and sleep in them; ski tour around big lakes, like Crater Lake; fly to the Valley Of Fire State Park and wait for sunrise; and canoe the Boundary Waters. While at my studio in Portland I rent the latest lighting and camera equipment, and find only the best to stock; I constantly update my knowledge and practice new camera and lighting techniques; I consistently execute successful studio jobs for companies like Nike and NW Alpine; and many times, I sleep at the studio or just stay there all night getting ready for the next shoot.I do all of this for passion; passion of wilderness, light, and the photograph. There are way easier and less stressful careers out there to place bread on the table, that is for sure, but I can't shake this passion to explore and create with artificial light in a studio or amongst the light only wild environments can provide. Photography is not only my passion but how I survive. This is important to you and me because it means I run a highly professional business that must survive the constantly evolving times. I take great pride in being professional, highly skilled, consistently delivering a high quality product, and always demand that my team and I deliver the best in customer service.
