The international holiday packages market is mostly offline. All major online travel companies combined control just 10% of the market. Studies show that Indians prefer buying holiday packages offline because of the assistance and customisation offered by offline travel agents. There are online travel companies that let customers plan and customise their trips themselves, connect customers with offline travel agents and offer booking support. While the first offers a do-it-yourself experience, the second has no control over customer experience and the third offers a very poor quality of customer support with no customisation. What if, there was a way for the customer to buy holiday packages online, and get the experience of an offline travel agent?
