Tristar is a wholly owned transport company, focused on, and specialising in, the transport of abnormal & project cargo; both nationally & cross-border. As a Micro Enterprise, Tristar receives an automatic Level 4 Rating (100% BEE Recognition). It has set goals for its 2009 financial year to address transformation within the organisation. Tristar currently run a fleet of 6 vehicles from Johannesburg, South Africa, with a load capacity of 70 tons. In addition, it has supplementary resources available, which form a network of select subcontractors. Tristar are able to source semi-trailers and super links when "project cargo" require such equipment. The fleet comprises nine specialised trailers: •Three step-deck trailers •Two 12m super-deck trailers fitted with 6m and 12m twist locks •Two 60 ton low-beds •One 70 tons low-bed This allows it to carry: •Over mass •Out of Gauge containers •Other equipment classified as abnormal cargo Areas of Operations: •Johannesburg, Durban, Eastern, Western and Northern Cape •Southern Africa: Botswana, Namibia, Swaziland, Mozambique, Zambia & DRC
