Truly Blue Mission, Vision, and Action March 14, 2022 MISSION: Truly Blue mobilizes the Yale community to preserve American democracy. We engage members of the Yale community to strengthen our country by supporting voting rights, election integrity and civic institutions. We oppose the mobilization of hate as a political force, attacks on our civic institutions, and the rise of authoritarianism. We support candidates and organizations which will make it easier for citizens to vote, ensure votes are counted accurately, respect the will of the voters, and strengthen our democratic institutions. We begin by supporting candidates for state Secretary of State, and organizations committed to fighting voter suppression and protecting election integrity. We identify races where the talent, skills and resources of our community can have a pivotal impact, and recommend those races. WHAT YOU CAN DO- Join us on Facebook at Truly Blue, our central communications hub, where you can find out what’s happening and share the civic work you’re doing- Participate in occasional Zoom gatherings to connect with fellow Yalies and learn about key races and what you can do to make a difference- Donate or volunteer for a key race or organization- Participate in the administration of elections where you live- Invite your classmates and Yale friends and colleagues to join Truly Blue.
