Design Philosophy Good design is always personal, and it is the small details that impart the unique character of a structure. While there is great variety in the work we have done, there are recurring themes that define it as the TSJ Design Group. We believe in clean lines and quality of construction. We understand that controlling light and sound makes for a well designed and aesthetically inviting setting. We believe in utilizing subtleties of scale and in the occasional drama of the big space. We also believe in the visual importance of detail. At the TSJ Design group we seek out materials that age well, that develop character over time. We look for variations in texture, both visual and tactile, and feel that spaces should have surfaces that beg to be touched. We take "sexy" as a compliment. We believe that the act of making a building should be a team effort between the owner, the designer, and the builder. Each party needs to challenge the other two, with the common goal of producing the best possible product.
