Tsuchiya Kaban began making leather bags in an industrial Tokyo suburb in 1965. In Japan, every elementary school student receives a small backpack called "Randoseru" upon beginning his or her first year of school. This bag accompanies the student until 6th grade, serving as their best companion. It is in fact the only thing that remains constant in their six years of elementary school life. Tsuchiya Kaban got its start producing comfortable and durable bags that grow with the children who use them. Some 50 years have passed since Tsuchiya Kaban was established.
