TTYL is a social club where you can't use your phone full of board games, coloring, beer/wine, music and live entertainment. TTYL has been popping up around NYC since January this year in locations such as: The Phluid Project, SHOWFIELDS, FREEHOLD and soon to be Tijuana Picnic. Past entertainment has included: a DJ, a tarot card reader, and pre-recorded meditations and love letter writing by SUNDAYS. Past sponsorships: Rise Brewing Co and Emmys Organics. At the events, attendees must check their phones at the door in order to participate in activities. In a city that's full of options, TTYL is providing people with a safe space to be themselves and connect with like minded individuals. You must be 21 or up to attend and it's encouraged to come alone. TTYL's mission is to help people have a healthier relationship with technology and social media. The reason behind this is due to the fact that humans are forgetting how to connect with one another. We no longer value face to face interaction, but rather reach for our phones because we believe they will fill a void in our lives. Social media and technology aren't bad advances in our society, however, we can definitely use these tools less and in a more mindful way. Join TTYL's next event in order to see for yourself just how good it can feel to step away from your phone for an hour or two. Board games, coloring and playdoh are provided to remind everyone that play can allow that inner child inside, the one with big dreams and a huge imagination, to be set free. It's self care at it's finest.
