The story of Tunik began when Melbourne born designer Marissa Ganino was looking to create a collection of dresses combining stylish prints with flattering shapes. A modern take on a printed dress. And a brand for women who wanted something better suited to their lives and their changing bodies. A brand created using the most purist philosophy and processes. Streamlined to be ethical, sustainable and focused. Tunik creates only dresses, tunic tops and small jewellery collections. The philosophy is to not over create unless in the future it is required. This is part of keeping the Tunik footprint light on our earth. Each initial dress concept is sketched, the pattern is made and the garment is sewn by designer and creator of Tunik - Marissa Ganino. She then works with local Melbourne pattern specialists to fine tune and prepare each pattern before having the styles made for you in a local and brilliant Melbourne factory. Tunik dresses are made in exclusive prints also designed by Marissa herself in her Melbourne studio. One of her favourite moments is seeing her drawings come to life when printed on fabric. Mixing fashion with a love for nature, each design is a special piece of Tunik artwork and each season we hope to add beauty to your wardrobe in garments that will last. Marissa wanted to create a styling and brand that worked for a wide age group. For a woman who loved prints but wanted something that was cool and more refined. Grown up but still fun. Stand out but not glaringly bold. Feminine yet with loads of attitude. And lot’s of room to style it YOUR WAY with our simple shapes. Each dress is based on designs that will be ongoing season to season. The styling may change slightly…a ruffle here or a sleeve change there for some newness…but the fit will always be a Tunik fit. There is no fast fashion in Tunik’s plan. It’s a forever dress. It’s also a dress made locally in Melbourne, in very small quantities so you know you have something UNIQUE & special.
