Tvet Somalia

We create a network of TVET+ business hubs in Africa. A TVET+ business hub is a vocational training centre that integrates services for local businesses and startups, in order to facilitate and promote quality and sustainable growth. We work closely together with international diaspora + descendants and want to include investment opportunities (local projects within Somalia) for them. A TVET+ center offer one-year (modular) courses in all trades and a 3-year dual apprenticeship schemes. In addition to technical training, the hubs offer ABE/foundational skills and life skills as per need, entrepreneurship training, a business incubator and socio-cultural activities. The hubs are well embedded in the local community and have close relationships and exchange with the business community. A key element of the concept is to develop a unique business model for the hubs that allow generating income, yet without crowding out the private sector. TVET+ was founded in 2020 and is supported by a 13 mio. EUR grant from the german development bank KfW. In the Somalia branch, the project aims at accomplishing the following goals within the coming years: 2021 TVET+ project startup. 2022 Crowdfund 1st solar projects in Galkayo. 2022 Prof. Adow TVET center upgraded to full TVET+ business hub. 2023 Opening 2nd TVET+ center in Jowhar 2024. Opening 3rd TVET+ center in Baidoa
