U-casadh (pru) u-cas-a: Gaelic Meaning [u-turn] MISSION STATEMENT “To provide a quality support service for ex-prisoners 24 years and over and their families that will facilitate their full participation in community and economic life.” The U-Casadh project was set up in 2008 in response to an identified need for supports and services for ex-prisoners and their families in Waterford. The project supports positive life choices through mentoring, counselling, education, sheltered training and independent living courses. The overall ethos of the project is to facilitate positive lifestyle choices among its participants. It supports behaviour change that leads to a reduction in criminal activity and facilitates the reintegration of ex-prisoners with positive outcomes for both the participants and the wider community.
