Ucalgary Racing

UCalgary Racing is the premier Formula SAE racing program of the University of Calgary. As a student-run, interfaculty team, we bring together the top engineering and business talent on campus. Since we have built 17 open-wheel, two-thirds-scale Formula-1–style race cars and established ourselves as the university’s highest-standard technical and competitive team. This 2025-2026 season, we advance into our third electric era with the development of the UCR-03, continuing our shift from internal combustion to Electric Vehicle competition. We are committed to achieving excellence in automotive design, manufacturing, marketing, and branding. Building on our past experiences, we refine previous designs in the never-ending pursuit of motorsport distinction. Our engineering and business teams work tirelessly to design and build a new race car every single year. Being part of the UCalgary Racing team does not award students any credit towards their degree. We are here purely because this is what we love to do. This is our passion. Our members are highly self-motivated and contribute countless hours to the team year-round. We do it because this is where the most driven students choose to compete, learn, and lead. The result is a high-intensity environment that shapes some of the most sought-after young engineers and professionals in Canada and beyond, with members interning and receiving placement at organizations such as Red Bull Racing, Google, Tesla, Koenigsegg, L3Harris, and Raytheon Technologies, among others.
