Udavi Society

UDAVI stands for Upliftment of Democratic and Village Improvement Society, and was founded in 1993 by our director Mr. A. Johnson Kennedy. Since its inception in 1993, UDAVI has envisaged an equitable society, and it is clearly embodied in our vision of ““Development of a thoughtful conscientize society that believes in the equality of opportunities for the development and social justice.” We work towards the upliftment of a host of fellow community members, including street children, differently abled and unwell persons, displaced and homeless families, Dalits and urban poor. We have had initiatives in the areas of education, health and sanitation, agriculture, women empowerment, financial inclusion and rehabilitation. We are registered under the Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act 1975, Foreign Contribution Registration Act 1976 and the Income Tax Act 1961. All contributions made to UDAVI Society are 100% tax-exempted under 80G. We have been fortunate to have received contributions and support from across the country, and from abroad, namely from the Netherlands, the US, the UK, Germany and the European Commission. We also have internship opportunities for young dynamic individuals who have the drive to play a part towards making the society equitable. In the past, individuals from across the country, and those from Germany have collaborated with us in person towards making the world a better place.
