Uf Footprints Buddy And Support Program

Footprints Program provides student volunteer “buddies” 7 days a week that offer one-on-one supervised fun and activities to kids/siblings, allowing parents the opportunity to take time for themselves. Footprints also strives to be more than just a volunteering organization within Shands Hospital, and we aim to be just as involved outside the unit as we are inside the unit. • Ronald McDonald House Footprints supports the Ronald McDonald House by providing delicious meals for the families living there while their loved ones receive care at Shands Hospital. Student volunteers organize the event and are responsible of preparing and serving the meal, and all active members are expected to attend and assist in one of our many meals served at the Ronald McDonald House. • Bone Marrow Drives Footprints supports the Gift of Life Bone Marrow Foundation by running campus-wide bone marrow drives. Gift of Life is an associate donor registry of the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP) and an accredited registry by the World Marrow Donor Association (WMDA). • Relay for Life Footprints supports Relay for Life through yearly participation in their annual fundraising walk. At Relay for Life events, people come together to honor cancer survivors as well as those who we have lost due to cancer, all while raising money to support the American Cancer Society.
