Ujamaa Associates

We created Ujamaa Associates in 1983 during Kwanzaa. Our business model based on Ujamaa (cooperative economics) the 4th principle of Kwanzaa. We work collectively and cooperatively with people in the Afrikan world marketplace. Our mission is prosperity through service. Our goal is to create and sustain a successful business with cultural integrity. How We Help Ujamaa Associates creates and conducts educational and cultural programs (Kwanzaa and Black History Month Celebrations, for example), for children and adults. We work cooperatively with African and dancers, drummers, presenters, storytellers and entrepreneurs throughout the African Diaspora. The Kwanzaa Kalenda is still the only publication that connects vendors, entrepreneurs, event and marketplace coordinators, consumers and suppliers to local, national and global Africentric events, marketplaces and opportunities to buy and sell art, hand made crafts, books and jewelry. Or specialty products like Shea butter, incense and oils, African soaps, clothes and fabrics. The Afrikan World Marketplace Association An online venue where the Afrikan world marketplace community can buy, trade, barter, ride and booth share, chat and share ideas and information. Membership is free for vendors, entrepreneurs' event and marketplace coordinators, consumers, suppliers and anyone who cares about the Afrikan world marketplace, now while we build.
