Ujamaa Tanzania Foundation

The Ujamaa Foundation is an Australian registered charity and is the funding and governing organisation for the Ujamaa Tanzania Foundation, located in Arusha, Tanzania. Our keystone project is Ujamaa Children's Home which was established in 2010 and provides holistic long-term, family style care for 20 vulnerable children who do not have a safe home environment and have been placed into residential care by Social Welfare. The focus is on emotional wellbeing, as well as supporting general needs to give children the security and sense of belonging to a family, which ultimately leads to their future success. Forward Together, established in 2023, is our next stage project to provide ongoing housing, personal and educational support for the young adults as they age-out of Ujamaa Children's Home. This evidence backed program provides necessary care during the vital ages of 18-22yrs to ensure positive long term outcomes and to assist these young adults in creating a successful and self empowered future.
