Winner of the 'Climate Creative Award'(2025, Cool Wirral)'Organisation of the Year'(2022/23, John Moores Student Union) At UK Unplugged CIC, we help families rediscover the joy of connection — away from screens and towards creativity, empathy, and real-world adventure. UK Unplugged CIC was founded by volunteers who saw first hand how constant connectivity affects the wellbeing of children, families, and communities. We set out to make being offline as enticing and accessible as being online, replacing virtual experiences with real-world, creative, and aspirational ones. We design engaging, screen-free activities that nurture key life skills such as creativity, empathy, and problem-solving, while introducing families to new cultures, careers, and ideas. Our mission is to help young people and their families thrive — in Merseyside and beyond — by reconnecting them with each other and their communities. We also empower university students and professionals to volunteer meaningfully, sharing their expertise, culture, and passions while gaining real-world experience that supports their personal and professional growth. By bringing together skilled volunteers, we co-create unique, play-based materials focused on mental well-being and sustainability. These are shared through our Unplugged Boxes and community events, reaching underserved families (low-income, SEND, those with young people on the CAMHS waiting list). Empowering young people and their families to create, explore and unplug. Transforming family time through sustainable, screen-free adventures.
