UKPROPERTYCLUB is a new web site predominantly aimed at first time buyers in the 25-35 age groups who would consider co-buying or co-renting to bridge the funding gap enabling them to get onto the property ladder. The Idea for the web site came about over two and a half years ago during a discussion with family and friends many of whom were on the verge of graduating from university to embark on a career. The discussion raised the reality of the cost of buying a home. Mortgages then were relatively easy to come by, however the cost of the property itself was the stumbling block. Today house prices have fallen, now the deposit is hard to come by with many lenders wanting 25% to 30% of the value of the property, the idea of web site is therefore just as important to first time buyers today as it was then. Having spent three years at university renting with likeminded people, why not replicate this process when buying a first property? It also became apparent that the target age group for the web site had very little knowledge of the property market hence the idea to give members access to downloadable fact files and sample legal documentation assisting them in this area. Buying property could be a minefield without all of the relevant information. How does the web site work? The likeminded individuals meet each other via social networking on the site, they agree on the type of property, the area, funds for deposits and mortgage payments etc. Through the site they can then search for the relevant service providers in their chosen area, namely, IFA’s, Estate Agents, Solicitors and Insurance brokers etc. The web site is unbiased, totally impartial, simple to use, membership is free and is equally of use to individual buyers as it is to co-buyers or co-renters.
