Undp Food Systems

Food Systems are fundamental to the sustainable development of the 170 countries UNDP supports. They are often the largest contributor to their economies; food and nutrition is fundamental for citizen health; and have a key role to play in achieving the SDGs. With the current multiple crises UNDP is supporting governments and other national actors to transition their food systems from recovery to resilience for them to become equitable, inclusive and environmentally, socially, and economically sustainable systems. The FACS Community builds on the neutral convening power of UNDP to serve the learning needs of over 850 project practitioners, global change makers, sector specialists and local leaders from government, business, international organizations, and civil society. With members from 70+ countries including 34 commodity-producing countries and supported by the Global Environment Facility, the Community supports the capacity development and knowledge management needs of a range of global and regional programmes, including the World Bank-led Food, Land Use and Restoration (FOLUR) programme.
