Union Mercantile Ltd.(UML) a private limited company originally incorporated in England in 1960 was relocated in Bangladesh in 1974. Since its inception UML has been involved in many engineering constructions works all over Bangladesh. UML has collaborated in several major turnkey projects in power system engineering & General Engineering projects with internationally renowned companies like GEC ALSTHOM of France, NEI Reyrolle of U.K, Bonar Cruickshank of U.K, Toyomenka Kaisha of Japan, C.N.C.C.C. of China, Technique Louis Menard of France, Foster wheeler of U.K. Snam Progetti, Mabey and Johnson, UK, and lately UML has been involved in many infrastructure and engineering projects with Bharat heavy electric of India, Larson and Tubro, India, Chengda Engineering, China, Siemens, Germany and Siemens, India to name a few. Our scope of work for all above Power Stations were all Civil & Building Works, all Electro-mechanical erections & testing commissioning and inland transportation of all heavy lifts & general cargo. Civil works involved Control Building, Hostel Building, Administrative Building, Workshop & Ware House, all Machines & Equipment Foundations, Approach & Internal Road, Boundary Wall, Retention Wall, Slope Protection and Bridge over approach cannel & associated transmission line foundations. Union Mercantile Ltd, in addition to the construction of the above Power Plants, carried out the operation and maintenance of these plants during the warranty period on behalf of the manufacturers and BPDB. The Company has a combined experience of nearly 20 years in operation and maintenance. Here it may be mentioned that we are the only Bangladeshi Company who has such experience on operation and maintenance of power station, in addition to project management, turn-key construction, testing & commissioning, with the exception of the National Utility Authority of Bangladesh Government namely Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB).
