UNIQA Re is a licensed reinsurer domiciled in Zurich, Switzerland. As a Group-internal reinsurer, UNIQA Re focuses its business activities exclusively on all UNIQA insurance companies. No active reinsurance is offered in the open market. UNIQA Re contributes to the effective risk and capital management within the framework of the Group guidelines. Besides a few exceptions, all obligatory reinsurance treaties of UNIQA companies are assumed by UNIQA Re. In addition, UNIQA Re is managing the run-off business of former Group companies. UNIQA Group is represented by some employees and exclusive distribution partners serving more than 10 million customers in 18 countries. UNIQA Group is one of the leading insurance groups in its core markets in Austria and Central & Eastern Europe (CEE).
