Universal Energy, a subsidiary of Wontai Group, was founded in November 2015. It is a professional company engaged in investment, construction and operation of renewable energy power plants along the "Belt and Road". It has successively expanded its business in countries such as Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Azerbaijan. Nowadays, the company's total capacity of renewable energy power plants worldwide has been up to 3.85GW, which includes projects connected to the grid, built and to be built. It has become the largest and most competitive supplier for clean energy in Central Asia. In Kazakhstan, the company has invested in and constructed renewable energy power projects with a total capacity of 2GW, of which 8 projects have been listed as "Key Projects of China-Kazakhstan Capacity Cooperation". And some projects are supported by SINOSURE's Export Buyer's Credit Insurancewhich is the first renewable energy insurance project in China for a private enterprise to adopt Non-Recourse Finance with a "Double 95%" compensation ratio. Meanwhile, the company’s 500MW wind power project, constructed with an investment of US$ 410.96 million, is the largest mountainous wind power in Uzbekistan. It pioneers the adoption of RMB-denominated electricity pricing, thereby bolstering the RMB internationalization. During the 29th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), Universal Energy secured the bid for Azerbaijan 100MW solar power project after competing with large enterprises such as Saudi Arabia's ACWA and the UAE's Masdar, which was the first publicly auctioned renewable energy project in Azerbaijan.
