UpCycle Watches are a unique type of adventure into both the worlds of watches and the environmental benefits of upcycling. Expensive watches like Rolex have typically had regular services in the past. This now costs from £100 - a time depending on complexity. The watches most of us wear have never warranted such a high outlay every 3 - 7 years. This is why they wear out and stop working. As it is not cost-effective, or often even possible, to fix our lovely old Smiths Empire etc, it ends up in a drawer, then in house clearance, then all to often in landfill. Luckily, it is still possible to find these worn out watches and rescue them. Us at Upcycle Watches remove the non-functioning moving parts which are then incorporated in our unique upcycled earrings. The lovely old cases and dials are then brought back to life with quality Seiko quartz movements, new winders and hands. The winders are only needed to set the time, as no winding up is required. Add a new strap if necessary, and that mid-century watch that died of old age gets a brand new life, with minimal maintenance - a new battery every year - and affordable repairs if required.
