A solution for preventing the negative effects of prolonged seated periods, especially when working from home We are certified sports coaches with a focus on bringing movement into the workplace, whether it is at the office or at home. For having previously worked a computer job, we know the constraints that it puts on the body. After a career change, we have now dedicated our work to preventing work-related injuries that can come with a seated job. Given the current context, the number of people working from home has increased drastically. Whether remote work is something we like or not, it is important to acknowledge its advantages and disadvantages. An important aspect, for us, is the decrease in activity level that comes along with working from home: we no longer have to walk to go to the office nor to change meeting rooms. On top of this, a home setup is usually far from ideal. Even with an ergonomic setup, it is known that long seated periods can have a negative impact on health… The solution we bring to this problem is twofold. Work from Home Workshop: An interactive workshop that bridges the gap between the theoretical recommendations on desk setup and the practical constraints of organizing it at home. Animal Flow© classes: An innovative physical training method that combines elements of several disciplines like yoga, capoeira, dance.
