Urban Heat Studio

We are a collective for transformative climate resilience and imagination. We gather people together to break down the time barriers between climate impacts tomorrow and the structures and injustices today that make us brittle in the face of planetary-wide change. We create playful, immersive experiences for people to work through uncomfortable emotions, change perspectives about barriers and opportunities, and build new stories together. We run the Heat Resilient Cities Conference, a half-real, half-fictional conference set in the future to explore and imagine radical, heat resilient futures, and define the milestones needed to reach them. At the Conferences, we gather all those who have the potential to shape urban resilience in the next decades: carers, healers, urban planners,(smart/green) cities, economists, builders, maintainers, small-scale entrepreneurs. https://lnkd.in/eDkDGgdg Our clients are people interested in creating more resilient cities, and with it more just and joyful livelihoods. Some of them come from climate and resilience organizations such as Climate KIC, social organizations like the German Red Cross, some from creative institutions such as the German Government’s Centre of Excellence for the Cultural and Creative Industries and Neue Gesellschaft für Bildende Kunst. And sometimes the city is the client, and we gather the right resources to make it happen.
