Background Nicholas Ille founded US Funerals Online in 2002, and at the same time launched Canadian Funerals Online. Nicholas had originally built UK Funerals Online in after experiencing the death of his grandmother in London, and having his first experience with the funeral industry. At the time he had looked online for information about dealing with a death, and found little available. After selling UK Funerals Online, and having spent his childhood in the US, he returned to build a US version of the website. US Funerals Online advocates for transparency of ownership and price disclosure within the industry, and works with local family-owned funeral businesses to help connect families with services.
