Useful Objects is a gallery specialising in collectible design that works with designers telling the compelling stories of our time, through objects that challenge the norms of function and materials in sophisticated and unexpected ways. Addressing a gap in the local context, Useful Objects is a co-op gallery, creating deeper opportunities for designer-makers in creating and presenting collectible design in Australia. Useful Objects provides these designers a base for the public to engage with their practices, through the exhibition, promotion and representation of their work. In addition, Useful Objects presents exhibitions by guest curators and works by guest designers and artists, to extend the conversation around collectible design in Australia.
