Uw Ecocar

The University of Washington (UW) EcoCAR team is an interdisciplinary student organization competing in the four-year EcoCAR Mobility Challenge. The competition is sponsored by General Motors and the U.S. Department of Energy, and managed by Argonne National Laboratory. Students are challenged with redesigning a 2019 Chevrolet Blazer to reduce the environmental impact, while maintaining the performance of the stock vehicle and integrating autonomous features. The team is comprised of about 70 students ranging from undergraduate freshman all the way through Ph.D. students. About 80% of the team is majoring in engineering and other STEM related fields, with a smaller percentage of students focusing in communications, business, and management.
