Záměr projektu spočívá ve vytvoření Centra kompetence pro zpracování vizuálních informací (V3C – Visual Computing Competence Center) jako uskupení dvou významných výzkumných organizací a čtyř průmyslových partnerů. Motivací je dlouhodobě nedostatečná provázanost výzkumných pracovišť a průmyslových podniků v ČR. Cílem projektu je vytvořit dlouhodobý rámec pro intenzivnější uplatňování výsledků aplikovaného výzkumu daného oboru v oblasti českého průmyslu a tento rámec naplnit vlastním výzkumem.
