Michael Van Clarke apprenticed with London’s top stylists in the 1970s, before opening his own flagship luxury salon in Marylebone 34 years ago – Vogue calls it “London’s most professional salon”. He educates salon owners around the world with his Salon Business Mastery programme and trains apprentices and stylists at the London Salon Academy. Many have gone on to open their own award-winning salons or risen through the hierarchy of the salon business family. The loyal clientele, both local and global, have watched the development of these apprentices through the ranks of seniority over the years as they transform from school leavers to senior stylists and technicians. Four of the team have worked with Michael for over 30 years, and most of the senior team are partners in Michael Van Clarke LLP. Michael’s experience covers a wide range of hairdressing from teaching, runway shows, magazine editorial, TV and film, business administration, product development, writing for industry and national press, video creation, salon design, international speaking seminars, and of course, the salon work of looking after a broad range of clients including models, celebrities and nine Royal families.
