Ken Pina - Managing Partner of Vassar Life Sciences Meet Managing Partner Ken Piña Mr. Ken Piña formerly was the Executive Vice President of Nalpropion Pharmaceuticals and served as the Senior Vice President, Chief Legal and Compliance Officer & Corporate Secretary of Pernix Therapeutics, a Nasdaq-traded public company. From 2006-2016, he served as a founder and the Managing Principal of Core Risks Ltd. LLC (CRL), a global provider of specialized consulting services to the Life Science sector. CRL was acquired by Jardine Lloyd Thompson (FTSE: JLT) in 2014. Prior to joining CRL, Mr. Piña was the Senior Vice President, Chief Legal Officer and Secretary for Henkel Corporation, a consumer product and specialty chemical company. Before joining Henkel, Mr. Piña served as the Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of Rhone-Poulenc Rorer Pharmaceuticals Inc, directing legal matters for the Company within North, Central and South America, as well as the Pacific Rim area. Prior to joining Rhone-Poulenc Rorer, he was a litigator at Pepper Hamilton, a national law firm based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Mr. Piña received his Juris Doctorate from the Dickinson School of Law, Pennsylvania State University, where he was named a Food and Drug Law Institute Scholar and was a member of the Woolsack Honor Society. He also received the American Jurisprudence Award in Food and Drug Law. Mr. Pina is also a graduate of the Rutgers University College of Pharmacy, as well as the INSEAD Executive Managment Program. Mr. Piña has served as a Lecturer in Law at the Villanova School of Law and as an Adjunct Professor of Food and Drug Law at Temple University.
