The VConnections’ Organization has chosen to focus and serve a segment of America that the Office of Rural Health (ORH) says is one the most underserved; “the rural area veterans and their families.” The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Office of Rural Health (ORH) states “that almost a quarter of all Veterans in the United States, 4.7 million, return from active military careers to reside in rural communities. Veterans choose rural communities for a variety of reasons: closer proximity to family, friends and community; open space for recreation; more privacy; lower cost of living; or less crowded towns and schools. While Veterans may enjoy the benefits of rural living, they also experience rural health care and resource challenges that are intensified by combat-related injuries and illnesses. VA statistics show that many veterans of all ages aren’t aware of or taking advantage of the benefits available to them. Our primary focus and goal is to bring awareness and connect all Maryland rural area veterans and their families in need to results oriented resources. We believe through commitment, innovative methods and partnerships we can be successful. Your support and efforts are welcomed and valued.
