Veer Ratna Foundation Vrf

Veer Ratna Foundation (VRF) works with wives and children of jawans and JCOs killed in action (battle casualty (BC)). VRF is operational since 2007, founded by Mrs. Subhashini in the memory of her late husband, Col Vasanth V, the first recipient of the Ashoka Chakra (posthumous) for the state of Karnataka. Our initiatives: Women Empowerment Program– conducted with the objective of empowering women to transform and enrich their lives. Youth Empowerment Program– for youth aged 15 to 21 years and empowers them to holistically take charge of their lives. Child Development Program– for children aged 6 to 13 years to overcome trauma and loss and enable children to experience happy childhood. Annual Learning Retreat (ALR)- starts once the child/young adult completes the one-and-a-half-year program. The objective of this program is to provide high quality and high impact intervention till they complete 21years of age. This hand holding exercise is planned as a 4 day long outbound learning program through fun and engaging activities. Women Leadership Program– is our latest project and designed specifically to train graduates of our empowerment programs as leaders. This encourages them to create and anchor self-help groups. Memorial Award– is a key initiative of the Foundation and is intended to immortalize our fallen soldiers in his respective alma mater. The award carries a citation and cash prize and presented annually to students of Class 10 or 12 with exceptional emotional, mental and academic, leadership skills. Gift a birthday– a small gesture to show our families that we care for them on their special day.
