The firm traces its roots to Judge Adrian Duplantier, whom formed the firm in the early 1950s and subsequently served as a District Court Judge in Orleans Parish, Louisiana, and a Federal Judge in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana. In 1975, Edward J. DeMartini moved the firm to Kenner, Louisiana. Roy M. D’Aquila joined the firm in 1979, succeeding Edward J DeMartini. Mr. D’Aquila served as managing partner from 1998 until he passed away in January 2012. Thereafter, Robert A. Contreras served as managing partner from 2012 until his untimely death in July 2018. Currently, Ronald J. Vega serves as managing partner and moved the firm to its new Metairie location. The firm has represented some of the largest businesses in the Greater New Orleans area, many national clients, and hundreds of individuals in need of legal representation. The firm particularly practices in the areas of Business Representation, Commercial Litigation, Creditors Rights & Bankruptcy, Collections, Seizures, and Will, Trusts & Successions. We also handle MetLife Legal Plans upon request. Attorneys in the firm have practiced before most Federal and State Courts located in Louisiana and has represented clients before various municipal, parish, and state boards and agencies in planning, zoning, and real estate development matters. Throughout the years, the firm has employed many associates and dedicated staff members consisting of legal assistants, paralegals, and departmental administrators.
