Velocache

VELOCACHE is a game that is played with: A bicycle A digital camera (or phone with a camera) A computer with internet access There are two basic parts of VELOCACHE: HIDING FINDING HIDING A CACHE: Get some cool stuff together. Make sure that it is comprised of items that you might like to find. Encapsulate these treasures in a container of some sort that makes sense for the weather. It is best if the velocacher that finds your hide can use the container again if they chose to. Place on the outside of the cache a message stating that this is a velocache, the website url, and a nice note telling non-players not to mess with it if it is accidentally found. Get on your bike and ride! Hide the cache! Be careful. Don’t be stupid. Have fun. Take a picture of where the cache is hidden. Take multiple pictures from the perspective of the cache itself Do not ever use the zoom on your camera! Zoom kills. Get to your computer and upload your new hide. The site is pretty self explanatory on this aspect. Simply click the “New Cache” text on the left. You can also use your mobile device to do this if you wish. Instructions on how to do this will follow below. FINDING A CACHE: Study the site and figure out where a cache is hidden. Get on your bicycle and go find it! Take a picture of where the cache was hidden. Take pictures from the same perspectives that you just used to find the cache in the first place. Take a picture of the found cache and your bicycle together at the hide location. Post your images AS FAST AS POSSIBLE. On the site it is as simple as clicking the “Post your find for cache#” above the cache you just found. Doing this immediately is best. Your mobile device or simple cell phone works great by using a text message to the site. This is the most important aspect to this game. If you mess this part up the other players will eat you alive. If you mess this part up a lot, the admin will close your account. Go hide one!
