Verdel Instruments
Conventional tandem mass spectrometry (MS-MS) requires good separation of analytes upstream of the spectrometer – to maintain a clear and consistent association between analyte ions and any fragments born from them. Separating analytes can be technically difficult and time-consuming, especially in samples containing many different analytes (biological samples, for example). In addition, some separation techniques inadvertently remove analytes from the sample – which then never reach the spectrometer. Verdel's unique TOC-MS technology ‘encodes’ each analyte ion with a unique modulation frequency. This modulation is passed onto any born fragments; so, analytes and fragments can be correlated, even when there are mixtures present in the spectrometer. TOC-MS enables a simpler analytical method, with higher analyte coverage – saving time, improving confidence and generating new insight.
