Vermeer Centrum Delft

Vermeer Centrum Delft has, as the only museum in the world, digitally printed copies of all Vermeer's paintings. Besides of that, it shows you how Vermeer worked and tells you about the time and place in which he lived. Johannes Vermeer is one of the best known artists from the Dutch Golden Age. His name is inextricably linked with Delft, the city in which he was born in 1632 and where he lived and worked all his life. The Vermeer Center in Delft offers a visual voyage of discovery through the life, work and city of Johannes Vermeer. Step into 17th century Delft, see samples from Vermeer's oeuvre, go in search of his mentor and find the stories behind the paintings. In the studio, you will see how Vermeer approached his work and how he mastered the light, composition and colour in his paintings. The Vermeer Centre is housed on the historic site of the former St. Lucas Guild, where Vermeer was Dean of the painters for many years.
