Vermilion Theater

Vermilion Theater is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that aims to facilitate cross-cultural conversations and foster a sense of belonging among the Chinese diaspora and the broader non-Mandarin-speaking audience along the East Coast through producing multilingual versions of plays originally written in Mandarin or translated to Mandarin from other languages. Vermilion Theater aims to- Produce multilingual versions of plays originally written in or translated into Chinese for both the Chinese diaspora (such as international students) as well as the non-Chinese-speaking audience to enjoy both a unique cultural experience and a new form of theater art- Facilitate cross-cultural conversations, bridge the language barrier, and foster a sense of belonging for the AAPI community in the greater Boston area, with its impacts radiating along the East Coast- Amplify the voice of minority populations, including but not exclusive to racial, sexual, and gender minorities, using artistic expression to create a healing space for all.
