Versus Socks was founded in 2015 through the shared vision of Hanno Lategan, a university student with a passion for entrepreneurship, and Jurgens Uys, a former professional cyclist who knew firsthand what athletes need from their gear. Frustrated by the lack of socks that delivered both performance and personality, they set out to create something better — and they did. What started as a bold idea in Stellenbosch, South Africa, has evolved into a global brand redefining what performance socks can be. From day one, our goal has been simple: to create socks that combine top-tier performance with standout style — no compromises. Today, Versus Socks is a market leader, with over 5 million pairs sold worldwide, a talented team of 60+ professionals, and a purpose-built infrastructure designed for scale. With our own factory and a dedicated Versus-only distribution centre, we maintain full control of our process — from design to delivery — ensuring world-class quality in every pair. Our footprint stretches across continents, with three immersive concept stores and a network of more than retail partners globally.
